If you are in Tokyo looking for cute amusement, you can enjoy an excursion to Tokyo’s indoor Sanrio theme park called Puroland. Only half an hour away from Shinjuku is Tama-Center or “Hello Kitty Land.” It might seem like a Hello Kitty Paradise but actually it’s a home/small stadium for all Sanrio characters with two attractions (two rides), room setups where you can take pictures, a Sanrio or Puroland shops, and restaurants as well.

Upon entering the amusement park castle or small stadium leads you into a magical enchanted forest of Sanrio characters such as Keroppi, PomPomPurin, My Melody, Twinkle Little Stars, Cinamaroll, and of course Hello Kitty.

If you are a fan of Sanrio and “cuteness” is your fashion, this amusement park is a world of Sanrio characters with food, gifts, and room settings where you can step into the Sanrio world and take pictures.

It is also probably the most kid friendly theme park of the world and the ride mirrors that of rides you see outside of a supermarket for toddlers. The feature of this amusement park is two rides and a show.

There is the Sanrio character boat ride and Mymeroad Drive. Both of these attractions are slow rides that can also be compared to “It’s a Small World” of Disneyland although they are even more baby/kid friendly than Disneyland.

Although it’s a small amusement stadium, you can enjoy the enchanted forest of Sanrio characters which are popular among kids and babies and take an excursion to a forest and décor that is unlike any other. We can only compare it to “Rainforest Cafe” or that of any boat ride where the ride takes you into a different world.

There is also a show in which kids come to enjoy singing along with the Sanrio characters. Everything is in Japanese, of course. So it is a cuteness overload.

The strawberry caramels in the gift section is very delicious and you cannot find it elsewhere. The gifts are also popular among tourists and Sanrio enthusiasts. Even those who do not care for Sanrio goods can find something they like at this store. Clothing, snacks, miscellaneous items, and specialty stores such as Gudetama, Cinamaroll, or My Melody Shop are here.

There are currently five restaurants to eat here, such as the Character Food Court, Sanrio Rainbow World Restaurant, Cinamaroll Dream Cafe, Restaurant Yakata, and Sweet Parlor. Here you can enjoy food from beef curry to desserts, and buffet. One of the restaurants even include a show. All restaurants are decorated in Sanrio-like décor which adds to the experience here.

The park is just as cute as the Sanrio characters themselves. It also becomes a destination that has an old fashion feel to it. Price to the park is about 3,300 yen for adults and 2,500 yen for children.

Cuteness abode, come to Sanrio Puroland.
